What is Beef Tallow and Why You Need It For Your Skincare Routine

God truly has blessed this land and he has given us so many resources that are meant to help and heal. God wants us to be healthy and to take care of our bodies and one way that you can start is by starting with one small thing. That is, what you choose to put on your skin. Your skin is the largest organ on your body. Not only is it a filter for your body to protect you from the outside world, but it also helps keep everything in HAHA!

With the skin being the largest organ on the outside, it is a necessary filter to protect the inside from the outside. We are exposed to chemicals, pollution, toxins and so much more on a daily basis that our skin is probably begging for a break.

What you put on your skin matters and God does call us to treat our bodies with care. For some, that may mean doing what you’re currently doing, and for others, it might mean needing to simplify your skincare routine. If your goal is to simplify your skincare routine then look no further than beef tallow. That’s RIGHT! Rubbing FAT all over your skin. It’s amazing!

Beef tallow is nothing new for many people. It is a versatile and affordable resource for many. As an ancient old practice, it has been used for skincare for ages. Not only does it serve for a great skincare moisturizer, it also is great in cooking, using it as a wd-40 replacement, seasoning your wooden cutting boards and cast iron cookware and the list goes on and on and on.

Cooked some delicious sweet potato fries with the tallow!

Beef tallow in skincare is such an ancient tradition that has been a lost practice. In the midst of big pharmaceutical companies trying to sell you all the chemicals and promises that end up ruining the skin all together, we forget to go back to the basics.

Beef tallow is a basic moisturizer. You can simply rub it in your skin, no additives needed. I love adding some stuff to it to help enhance the benefits for the skin but it is not always necessary.

Going through the purifying process to ensure it is the cleanest tallow with little to no scent.

Tallow for skin care is one amazing resource. It is rich in vitamins A, D, E, K and conjugated linoleic acid. We will talk more about that later.

The vitamins and minerals found in tallow are nourishing and moisturizing to the skin. The fat profile of beef tallow is closest to our own skin making it a wonderful option for your moisturizer. It doesn’t clog the pores, nor will it be harmful unlike many off the shelf moisturizers you find that have a long, complicated ingredient list that are full of synthetic ingredients. Tallow is a thick moisturizer perfect for every kind of skin type. It is so gentle that I absolutely love using it on my baby’s skin who has very very dry and patchy skin in some areas.

Bottling up that tallow! So much goodness!

Going natural can be a wonderful thing because it allows your skin to breathe and relax.

Now there is a time and place SOMETIMES for lotions and creams that have medication in it or has more ingredients made to help different skin issues, however, if you are looking to simplify your skincare routine, ditch the chemical driven and store bought products, tallow is a great start because of how versatile it is.

Tallow contains a nutrient called CLA or conjugated linoleic acid. This is a nutrient that only cows and animals can produce and it is much richer and more prominent in grass fed cows. This nutrient is amazing for the body and the skin. It contains anti-inflammatory properties which can help aid in acne prone skin, eczema, psoriasis and more skin issues. When consumed, it contains so many health benefits as well which you can read here.

If I haven’t convinced you that tallow is amazing by now, then let me try to win you here.

Tallow is the simplest, easiest resource you can use for your skin. Not only is it amazing, nourishing and moisturizing to the skin, it is also safe for every skin type (for the most part. I have not seen or come across research on issues with it unless there’s a beef allergy).

I have had other customers come to me and say that the tallow balm has helped their super dry, eczema prone skin and the difference it has made in a week is astounding. This person has said that drugstores and prescriptions have not made this big of a difference in this short amount of time.

Beef tallow is a wonderful gift from God that can help heal the skin and simplify your skincare routine. It does so many things, it’s an amazing multitasker!
